Abstract

This study discusses the development of a sustainable drainage system in flood management in Tanjung Pura District, Lalat Regency. The main problem faced is the inability of conventional drainage systems to manage the increasing volume of rainwater, leading to flooding and infrastructure damage. For this reason, the implementation of a sustainable drainage system involving green infrastructure, such as rain gardens, bioswales, and permeable pavements, is a potential solution. These systems can reduce surface flow, increase water infiltration into the soil, and reduce negative impacts on the environment. Although it requires a large initial investment, the long-term benefits of this system, both from a social, economic, and environmental perspective, can make a great contribution to the people of Tanjung Pura District. This research also provides recommendations related to careful planning, community participation, and the application of technology in the management of sustainable drainage systems.
