This study aims to analyze the adequacy and suitability of green open space (RTH) in Tanjungbalai City in supporting sustainable urban development. Adequate RTH in accordance with the needs of the community has an important role in maintaining the quality of the environment, public health, and improving the quality of life. However, the lack and inconsistency of RTH in Tanjungbalai City has a negative impact, both on air quality, environmental temperature, rainwater management, and the physical and mental health of the community. Therefore, this study identifies various strategies that can be applied to improve the adequacy and suitability of RTH, including integrated spatial planning, strengthening policies and regulations, and empowering communities in RTH maintenance. The results of this research are expected to be the basis for policy-making that supports the development of RTH in Tanjungbalai City to create a greener, healthier, and more sustainable city.
