Abstract

This study aims to identify and formulate a strategy to improve street lighting services on Jalan Sutami, Tanjungbalai City, taking into account the limitations of existing budgets and resources. The lack of adequate street lighting results in a high number of accidents, an increase in vulnerability to crime, and a decrease in the comfort of road users, especially at night. Therefore, it is important to prioritize street lighting in accident- and crime-prone points, as well as utilize energy-efficient technologies such as LED lights and efficient smart lighting systems. This research also suggests the importance of collaboration between the government, the private sector, and the community in improving the quality of street lighting, as well as the search for grants from government programs and international institutions. It is hoped that the results of this research can be the basis for a policy to increase safer and more comfortable street lighting in the area.
